SlideShare Presentation Reflection

The SlideShare Assignment that we were required to complete and present gave me so much problems. I had a completed & ready powerpoint for presentation but it was uploading my powerpoint into slideshare that gave me so much problems. My Powerpoint was so good, it also has sounds at the end to end my presentation. Sadly, that didn't work as well during my presentation. Overall, I rate SlideShare as a 6 out of a 10 because of my complications on uplaoding and presenting through Elluminations too (unneccesary additional problems!). It was such a frustrating experience for me. I will first need to study and learn how to use the SlideShare.com before implementing it into my classroom. But, it is a good software because my fellow classmates mostly had no problem with this assignemnt. That is all for now...

RockYou.com presents, "HAPPY FEET"

RockYou.com is a great software to use for slideshare sharing or any type of presentation. Our presentation on RockYou.com is on the movie "HAPPY FEET". We got the penguin images from google image but illustrated our very own penguins that we used for this presentation. It was a great activity and we had so much fun creating this props needed for presentation. My group, Malorine did an awesome job on working cooperatively to make this project a success! I recommend this software for teachers and all others to use when creating presentations or other works that you would like to share. I rate this a 10 out of 10! AWESOME AND SO MUCH FUN!

WEB- QUEST @ zunal: SHAPING HISTORY ~ extending to the web

One of the big assignments in this ED TECH class is creating a web-quest site where students can search online within zunal.com. My group named "Malorine" created a web-quest about the CNMI Governors, both past and present leaders, Shaping History. My group members, Nerine and Maria T, and I created this quest which provided links that is necessary to complete the quest, Shaping History. Although we were having trouble editing the quest and forced Malorine to open a new account, I would still use this web-quest in my classroom as a culminating event about what was learned about the CNMI Governors Shaping History. I would certainly use this software for other subjects and topics taught in the classroom that I may want to "Extend to the Web." I rate this software a 8 out of a 10 because of the fact that we had problems editing our Web-Quest. Otherwise, I highly recommend this software for teachers to use in the classroom as culminating event or just to "Extend to the Web."

DIGITAL Scavenger Hunt

DIGITAL Scavenger Hunt was so much FUN!!! Maria T. & I paired up for this hilarious activity. We were given digital cameras and instructed to take pictures of several things on NMC grounds. Such items where such as a white eCho toYota car, a teacher wearing glasses and so much more! What was challenging for us was the bOOnie dog because they were nowhere to be found. Although, we spotted a Garfield duplicate cat walking the catwalk of NMC… we took his picture not only because he was doing the catwalk but because we use him in place of the bOOnie dog that was nowhere to be found on NMC grounds. This activity was challenging in which made it very exciting as well. This is an awesome activity and I would definitely implement it in my classroom as a culminating event. I rate this activity 10 out of 10 because it integrates so much skill required to survive in today’s world.

ON-LINE Word Processing - THINKFREE!

The ON-LINE Word Processing website we visited is Thinkfree. It is an ON-LINE Word processing software that has many features. Such features are such as inviting people which you can collaborate as a team and share, edit, and create ideas together. It can also produce tasks and issues, and others can comment on those issues within the task and so much more, you should check it out for yourself @ thinkfree.com. Not only does it offer those amazing features but it can also create folders to keep you organize. Teachers can use this software for students to discuss issues in the classrooms or topics relating to school functions. It can also create folders which keep teachers organize. Classroom Management is one aspect that will work great with this software. Have the students use this software to discuss their issues about a problem or about a project. In my group we rate this word processing software a 9 out of 10.

JOurneyS of TIMELINEs

Do you need to organize a timeline? Is this timeline taking you so long and using up your whole binder? Mnemograph is just what you need! Mnemograph.com is an ON-LINE software for creating timelines. I’ve used this software and had a great time creating my long journey of timelines. It was perfect! It not only “Save the Trees” but also save time who is not on my side at the moment when creating these timelines. It organizes the dates for you and has a text box for you to put the journey on those times. It is a great software and perfect for creating those timelines. I rate this software a 8 out of a 10 because one has to try out the site before knowing perfectly how to create your timeline ON-LINE! But I DO recommend this software and would use it in my classroom when teaching.

ABOUT BLOGS!

Matisse Enzer’s Glossary of Internet Terms puts it this way:

"Blog -- (web LOG) A blog is basically a journal that is available on the web. The activity of updating a blog is "blogging" and someone who keeps a blog is a "blogger." Blogs are typically updated daily using software that allows people with little or no technical background to update and maintain the blog."

Resources taken from:
http://www.blogscanada.ca/BlogDefinition.html

My first blog was created in Fall 2007 when I was taking Marine Biology here at NMC. We were required to open up a blog and use the blog as assessment purposes for assignments and projects given by instructor. This class was really fun because of the fact that it was field work for its labs and updating status in this course as required by instructor is through blogging. I was new to all this blogging but learned that it is widely used as journals or just keeping others updated on your side! I've seen bloggers with lots of different blogs for different categories or purposes in life. This blog that you are viewing now is my second blog that I've opened up. I look forward to creating more blogs!!! I would definately use BLOGS in my classroom not only to "Save the Trees" but, to expose my students to the growing technology of today's world! I rate BLOGS, BLOGGING, and being a BLOGGER.... a 10 out of a 10!! because there are so much advantages in this software.

Web Flow Chart; Mind - Mapping Activity

The Mind- Mapping Activity we did in class as a group was a great exercise for us "Teachers in Training". It is a great tool we can use in the classroom and a great way to organize ideas and etc... My group members (Nanette, Nerine, & Kioni) & I decided to use the Mind42 activity and I would rate that wedsite as 7 out of a 10. My favorite was the Mindmeister application because its so simple and easy. :)
